Mississippi Transportation Chairman Urges Recurring Revenue for Infrastructure Planning

Mississippi Transportation Commission Chairman Willie Simmons said recurring revenue is essential for the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) to plan future infrastructure needs, he told WJTV 12 News’ ‘Mississippi Insight’ with Cameron Smith.

Simmons told the program that stable, recurring funding allows MDOT to properly plan for roads, bridges and other transportation projects, according to WJTV.

He made the remarks during a recent appearance on the station’s ‘Mississippi Insight’ program, WJTV reported.
