The MLK Dream Team will host a Juneteenth Freedom Day celebration June 19 at Ripley Main Street, 205 W. Spring St., Ripley, Mississippi, the group said.
Organizers said the event will honor history, celebrate culture and build community. The group said it is hosting its first Juneteenth celebration.
The MLK Dream Team said the event will include live entertainment by For Appeal, music from DJ Gucci Girl, food and merchandise vendors, face painting, a bouncy house and activities for families. Organizers asked attendees to bring lawn chairs.
The group said it is selling T-shirts before the event and that preorders can be placed with MLK Dream Team members. The group said the preorder deadline is the beginning of June.
