More than 900 attend Mississippi public safety summit, agency says
More than 900 law enforcement officers, fire service personnel and prosecutors from across Mississippi attended the fourth annual Public Safety Summit this week, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety said.
The department said the event brought attendees together to learn, collaborate and strengthen public safety across the state.
The department said speakers at the summit included FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey, Scott Payne, Phil Chalmers and Travis Howze.
The department thanked those who worked for months behind the scenes to plan the event and offered a special thank-you to Attorney General Lynn Fitch and her office for their partnership and support, the department said. The agency added that Mississippi is stronger when public safety entities work together.
