A social media post marking National Train Day urged people to follow basic rail safety precautions and called rail travel one of the country s oldest forms of transportation, the post said.
The post listed simple rules. It said, “See tracks? Think train!” It added, “You CANNOT outrun a train!” and warned, “NEVER drive around lowered gates.”
The message said driving around lowered gates is illegal and dangerous and that people should always anticipate a train when near tracks.
The post included the hashtags #NationalTrainDay, #TrainDay, #RailSafety and #SeeTracksThinkTrain, the message said.
