A social media post using the hashtag #DriveSmartMS said Memorial Day is more than the start of summer and urged Americans to reflect and remember those who died in military service.
The message said the “freedom to travel, gather with loved ones, and enjoy the open road” was made possible by the sacrifice of military members who did not return home.
The post said the organization was “profoundly grateful for the service and sacrifice” of fallen service members and for the families who carry their legacy forward.
It also asked motorists to honor those who died by driving responsibly to help ensure everyone makes it home safely, the message said.
