National Weather Service Seeks Public Comment on COOP Modernization
The National Weather Service published a Request for Comment in the Federal Register May 7 seeking public input on plans to modernize its Cooperative Observer Program, the agency said.
The agency said the modernization would harness new technology, optimize observation sites and leverage high-quality commercial data to improve the Cooperative Observer Program, also known as COOP.
The notice appears in the Federal Register under document number 2026-09099 and includes instructions for submitting comments, the Federal Register posting shows.
