NWS Memphis: Damaging winds, heavy rain expected in Mid-South; tornado risk remains

The National Weather Service office in Memphis, Tennessee said there are no large-scale changes to the severe weather risk for the Mid-South tonight and tomorrow.

The agency said the main concerns for both days are damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall.

The service added that a tornado cannot be ruled out tonight because of an initial linear storm mode and said forecasters are monitoring convection developing upstream.

The information was posted by the National Weather Service in Memphis on its social media channels, where the office said it would continue to watch conditions and update forecasts as needed.
