NWS Memphis warns slight risk of damaging winds, heavy rain in northeast Arkansas, Missouri Bootheel

In an early morning update, the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) will clip extreme northeast Arkansas and the Missouri Bootheel today.

The office said damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall are the primary concerns.

It said a 2% tornado risk is embedded within the slight risk. Confidence is low that a tornado will occur, but it cannot be ruled out.

The update was posted by the National Weather Service in Memphis and included the hashtag #midsouthwx.
