NWS Memphis warns of rounds of storms, marginal severe risk

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms are expected through tomorrow and placed a marginal risk, level 1 of 5, for strong to severe storms today.

The agency said the primary threats are damaging winds and localized heavy rainfall.

NWS Memphis said the localized heavy rainfall threat will continue and increase in coverage into the overnight hours Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms may train, moving over the same areas, especially across far northeast portions of West Tennessee where locally higher amounts are anticipated.
