Officials Urge Early Action as Hurricane Preparedness Week Reaches Day 4

On Day 4 of Hurricane Preparedness Week, emergency officials urged residents to leave early or take protective actions when a hurricane threatens, saying delays can increase danger, officials said.

“Time matters,” officials said. They said leaving early or taking protective steps can keep people and their families out of harm’s way.

Officials warned residents not to wait until it is too late to act, saying prompt action can reduce risk.

The guidance was issued as part of Hurricane Preparedness Week, officials said.
