Ramps at I-59 Exit 67A in Hattiesburg to close intermittently, MDOT says

The Mississippi Department of Transportation said entrance and exit ramps at Interstate 59’s Exit 67A in Hattiesburg will be closed intermittently beginning at 8 a.m. May 20 for joint sealing related to an interstate resurfacing project.

MDOT said the closures in Forrest County will occur one at a time in two- to six-hour intervals until the work is complete. Affected ramps include the southbound I-59 exit to U.S. 49 northbound; the U.S. 49 northbound entrance to I-59 southbound; the southbound I-59 exit to U.S. 49 southbound; and the U.S. 49 southbound entrance to I-59 southbound.

MDOT advised that vehicles carrying permitted loads should use an alternate route. The agency posted additional details and a map online at https://bit.ly/4uXgCdz and https://mdottraffic.com/?a=561467.

MDOT did not announce an estimated completion date. The agency said motorists should expect intermittent closures and plan alternate routes accordingly.
