Report Identifies More Than $400 Million in Alleged State Government Waste
A report released last year identified more than $400 million in alleged waste across state government, the report said.
It said the findings included Medicaid payments to wealthier individuals and more than $100 million in welfare funds that were misspent or stolen, the report said.
The report also said some politicians used the state plane to attend out-of-state baseball games and that universities spent millions on diversity, equity and inclusion programs, the report said.
The report noted its release came as taxpayers faced Tax Day and said the timing highlighted concerns about government spending.
