Review team identifies waste at small Mississippi agencies
A review team said it has been identifying waste across small Mississippi agencies, boards and commissions, saying scrutiny often focuses on larger agencies while smaller ones are overlooked.
Over the last several weeks, the team said it has analyzed the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy, the Mississippi Real Estate Commission, the Mississippi Board of Contractors, the Mississippi Community College Board, the Mississippi Ethics Commission, the Mississippi Board of Nursing and the Mississippi Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
The team said it will continue reviews and that many more agencies, boards and commissions are expected to be examined in the coming weeks.
The effort aims to draw attention to smaller entities that the team said receive less oversight than larger state agencies, the team said.
