Tupelo officers complete crisis intervention training
Six officers from the Tupelo Police Department completed crisis intervention training last week, the department said.
In a photo released by the department, they were identified left to right as Officer Washington, Corporal Moore, Lieutenant Carter, Officer Graham, Reserve Officer Peck and Officer Neal.
The department said the training helps officers recognize and respond to people experiencing a mental health crisis.
It said the program provides officers with tools to safely de-escalate incidents and to connect individuals with care and resources.
The department said it was proud of the officers for their commitment to ongoing training and service to the community.
