Tupelo to replace Walsh Road cross-drain July 29

The City of Tupelo Public Works Department said it will replace a cross-drain on Walsh Road on Wednesday, July 29, from 8 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.

The department said the work is necessary to improve drainage infrastructure and to maintain the reliability of the city’s stormwater system.

Motorists should expect a temporary detour in the work area, the department said. Drivers were urged to plan alternate routes when possible and to use extra caution while traveling through the construction zone.

Residents were asked to avoid parking near the work area during construction hours to allow crews and equipment adequate access, the department said.

Every effort will be made to complete the project quickly and safely, weather permitting, the department said, and the city thanked the public for its patience and cooperation.
