USPS Stamp Out Hunger food drive set for Saturday, May 9

The U.S. Postal Service said its Stamp Out Hunger food drive will be held Saturday, May 9. Residents are asked to leave nonperishable food items by their mailboxes before regular mail delivery for pickup by their letter carrier, the USPS said.

The USPS said residents inside the Ripley city limits likely received official food-drive bags in recent mailings. The agency said those bags can be filled and left at the mailbox for pickup.

The USPS said residents on rural routes can participate by placing canned goods or other nonperishable items in a plastic bag and hanging it from or placing it beside their mailbox.

The USPS said the drive is intended to help local families in need. Donors who have questions were directed to contact their local post office, the agency said.
