Bond set at $2M for man charged in Jan. 2026 Jackson homicide

JACKSON, Miss. — A man was arrested and charged in connection with a Jan. 3 homicide, Jackson police said. WJTV reported bond was set at $2 million.

The shooting occurred in the 3600 block of Lee Drive on Jan. 3, 2026, Jackson police said. Police said Reginald Harper was shot at the location and was pronounced dead.

Jackson police said a murder warrant for the suspect was issued July 14, 2026. The department announced the arrest in a statement, according to WJTV.

WJTV reported the arrest but did not immediately identify the suspect by name. Police did not provide additional details in the statement released to the station.
