The City of Gulfport will close Dixie Avenue between Old Pass Road and 11th Street for a sewer cave-in repair project, city officials said.
The closure will begin at 8 a.m. Sept. 8 and the road is scheduled to reopen by 3 p.m. Sept. 11, the city said.
Old Pass Road, Joseph Avenue and 11th Street will serve as the detour route, the city said. The roadway will be closed to through traffic, but residents in the affected area will maintain access to their homes, officials added.
The City of Gulfport urged residents to proceed with caution and follow traffic markers and instructions. For questions, the city directed residents to the Public Works Department at (228) 868-5740.
