Harrison County nonprofit trains interns to protect Gulf Coast marine life
The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, a Harrison County nonprofit, offers 12-week internships to train people to save and protect marine life along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, the institute said.
The institute said it has spent more than 40 years researching and protecting marine life in the region.
The program includes 12-week internships in four departments and provides students hands-on experience in areas such as research and marine mammal care, the institute said.
The Mississippi Free Press reported on the institute’s internship program.
