Siemens Energy breaks ground on $300 million plant in Pearl, Miss.
Siemens Energy on Friday broke ground on a $300 million manufacturing plant and training center in Pearl, Mississippi, the company said, a project that the company and local officials expect will create about 300 jobs, WJTV reported.
The facility will produce switchgear and include a training center in the West Pearl Industrial District, Siemens Energy executives said at the groundbreaking ceremony, according to WJTV.
Company leaders told WJTV they had outgrown an existing facility in Richland and needed a larger site to expand production and workforce training.
The investment is expected to be located in Rankin County, and details about construction timelines and hiring plans were provided by Siemens Energy and reported by WJTV.
