BYU beats Arizona State 27-20, stays unbeaten at home

Eighth-ranked BYU pulled away to beat Arizona State 27-20, remaining unbeaten at home after holding the Sun Devils scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Fox News reported on Nov. 1, 2026, that Cougars quarterback Bear Bachmeier threw for 236 yards and one touchdown as BYU secured the victory.

According to the report, a 45-yard field goal gave BYU the lead for good, and running back Sione Moa scored from 1 yard out with just over two minutes remaining to seal the win.

The report says Arizona State rallied in the third quarter to tie the game at 17 after quarterback Jake Fette threw two third-quarter touchdown passes. Fette finished with 166 yards and two touchdowns.

Fox News’s account details multiple turnovers and short-field opportunities. Fette fumbled on the third play of Arizona State’s opening drive; Isaiah Glasker recovered at the Sun Devils’ 29, setting up BYU’s first touchdown. Later, Adrian Wilson recovered a fumble by Kyler Kasper at the BYU 39, which the report says set up Arizona State’s second touchdown drive. The report also says Moa earlier scooped up a fumble after Bachmeier lost the ball inside the ASU 1 and ran it into the end zone to put BYU up 7-0.

The report notes the Sun Devils suffered their third road loss to a top-10 opponent this season. Next week, BYU will travel to Salt Lake City to play Utah, and Arizona State will host Colorado in Tempe.
