Arizona state lawmaker, election denier, wins GOP primary for secretary of state

Arizona State Rep. Alexander Kolodin, an election attorney known for questioning the 2020 election results, is projected to win the Republican primary for secretary of state, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Kolodin defeated former state GOP chair Gina Swoboda to secure the nomination. He will face Democratic incumbent Adrian Fontes in the November general election.

Kolodin’s efforts to contest the 2020 election have drawn attention, with the State Bar of Arizona noting his involvement in election-related litigation. His victory continues a trend of election deniers gaining prominence within the Republican Party in Arizona.
