Cassidy faces re-election after vote to impeach Trump

Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy is running for re-election after he was one of seven Republican senators who voted to impeach President Trump, NPR reported.

The contest is expected to test former president Donald Trump’s influence over the Republican Party, NPR said.

Cassidy represents Louisiana in the U.S. Senate and is seeking another term, according to NPR.
