DA: Taylor Frankie Paul will not face new domestic violence charges
The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday it will not file additional domestic violence charges against reality star Taylor Frankie Paul, the office said in a press release reported by People.
The office said the alleged incident occurred more than two years ago, placing it outside the statute of limitations, and that additional claims lacked “sufficient evidence to support filing criminal charges,” the press release reported by People said. People also reported that Dakota Mortensen told police Paul had scratched him during a February altercation and that Paul denied being the aggressor.
Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in August 2023 in a separate incident, People reported, and prosecutors said new charges would have violated her parole if filed.
West Jordan police told Fox News Digital that detectives are investigating allegations reported at the end of February 2026 and have reviewed video believed to have been recorded in early to mid-2024. The department said investigators are reviewing multiple videos and interviewing those involved and that the investigation remains ongoing. Draper police confirmed to Fox News Digital that a separate investigation involving Paul and Mortensen was opened after allegations were reported Feb. 24 and Feb. 25.
The resurfaced incident led ABC to cancel Paul’s season of The Bachelorette after video was shared earlier this month by TMZ, Fox News Digital reported. A spokesperson for Paul told Fox News Digital that she is “very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” and that she has been “silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse” and is taking steps to protect her children. Fox News Digital said it reached out to Paul and Mortensen for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
