Local authorities said the parents of an 18-month-old boy will not face criminal charges after the child, who had been declared dead, was later discovered alive.
The boy was found unconscious in a pool at the family home in Gilbert, Arizona, and was declared dead, authorities said.
A medical examiner’s employee later discovered the child was breathing, officials said.
Authorities did not immediately provide additional details about the child’s condition or the decision not to press charges, officials said.
