Ravens’ Rashod Bateman faces domestic violence charges after incident in June

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman has been charged with three counts of domestic violence stemming from an incident in June. According to police reports obtained by TMZ, Bateman allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend’s car while their three-month-old child was inside.

Documents state that Bateman, 26, used a blunt object to break the windshield and driver’s side windows of the victim’s 2021 Mercedes-Benz. The victim reportedly suffered multiple small cuts and bruises to her face during the incident. The child was seated in a rear car seat at the time.

Bateman was charged with battery-family violence, reckless conduct, and first-degree criminal damage to property. He turned himself in to police shortly after the incident, which occurred June 3. The Ravens released a statement acknowledging the situation, saying they have been in contact with Bateman and are cooperating with league authorities.

The team did not specify when they learned of the incident. Bateman has remained with the team during training camp, which began in late July. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson recently expressed support for Bateman, noting the receiver’s return to practice.

Bateman signed a three-year, $36.75 million contract with the Ravens in June 2025, including $20 million in guaranteed money. He initially was subject to a no-contact order with the child’s mother but later requested its removal, which was granted after she agreed, according to TMZ. The court also ordered him to complete a violence prevention training class.

The NFL has seen multiple domestic violence incidents during the 2026 offseason. Bateman’s legal team issued a statement saying they will allow the process to unfold and that the facts will emerge in time.
