Elderly couple fatally stabbed in Queens apartment; no arrests, reports say
An elderly couple was fatally stabbed inside their Fresh Meadows, Queens, apartment Saturday, according to local media reports. The victims were identified as a 71-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, the New York Daily News reported.
Officers rushed to the scene after receiving a 911 call just before 8 p.m. Saturday, the Daily News said. The New York Post reported the call came in while the assault was still underway.
Police responded to a residence near Peck Avenue and 64th Avenue, where they found the victims critically injured, the Post said. Emergency medical personnel transported both to local hospitals for emergency treatment, the Daily News reported.
The Post said the man was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian and the woman to North Shore University Hospital. Both were later pronounced dead, the reports said. No arrests had been announced and the investigation remained ongoing, according to the reports.
