Fox News: Aces fans call Indiana Fever fans “racist” while defending A’ja Wilson after Game 2 seating confrontation

After A’ja Wilson walked into the seating area during Game 2 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana to confront a spectator, Fox News reported Oct. 2, 2026, that some Las Vegas Aces fans defended Wilson by accusing Indiana Fever fans of racism.

The Fox News OutKick column said the author interviewed Aces fans about an hour before gametime and published multiple fan statements alleging that Fever fans have a history of racist behavior. The piece described those accusations as “unfounded claims” and quoted Aces supporters directly.

Fox News reported that the author and Pat McAfee Show personality Boston Connor, who the article said was seated near the fan involved in the incident, have confirmed the fan’s remark was limited to “It (the foul) is on you,” and that no racial slur was reported.

The column includes short quoted exchanges from Aces fans who said race may have factored into Wilson’s reaction and at least one fan who directly labeled Fever supporters “racists.” The article framed those fan statements as part of a broader debate around how the WNBA and its fanbases have been characterized since Caitlin Clark joined the league.

Fox News’ OutKick piece also questioned the league’s decision not to fine or suspend Wilson after the incident, reporting that some Aces fans justified Wilson’s conduct on the grounds of alleged racism in the opposing fanbase.
