Jen Lilley says keeping Jesus at center helped her marriage through “extremely difficult times”
Actress Jen Lilley said keeping Jesus at the center of her nearly 20-year marriage helped her and her husband get through “extremely difficult times,” she told Fox News Digital.
Lilley told Fox News Digital that both she and her husband have a strong faith and that putting Jesus first has been central to how they navigated challenging seasons.
Lilley said her faith also guides the roles she accepts. She told Fox News Digital she has declined parts when they did not fit her needs in a particular season, prioritizing the well-being of her children and her marriage.
She married engineer Jason Wayne in 2007. The couple have four children, including two sons adopted through foster care and two daughters, the actress said.
In her latest project, Lilley portrays Gloria Stewart, the wife of Jimmy Stewart, in the biopic “Jimmy.” The film is due in theaters Nov. 6, 2026. Lilley said portraying Gloria highlighted the importance of trust, humor and being a dependable partner.
Lilley described, to Fox News Digital, that Jimmy Stewart returned from World War II with symptoms she said were consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder at a time when the condition was not yet widely recognized; she portrayed Gloria as an emotional anchor for Stewart.
Away from acting, Lilley has advocated for foster children, co-authored the book “Called to Foster” and relaunched her “Christmas Is Not Canceled” campaign, which began in 2020 and previously helped deliver gifts to 10,000 children. The 2026 initiative encourages toy donations and enters donors to win a Hallmark-style Christmas prize package, she said. Lilley also praised the film’s offering of free tickets to veterans.
