Josh Duhamel credits testosterone therapy for feeling better at 53

Actor Josh Duhamel told Fox News he credits testosterone replacement therapy with feeling better at 53 than he did in his early to mid-30s, and discussed the treatment during an appearance on Dave Asprey’s podcast, The Human Upgrade.

According to the Fox News report, Duhamel said he began testosterone replacement therapy about five years ago after tests showed low testosterone in his early 40s. He said he injects testosterone three times a week to keep his levels consistent and described improvements in his joints, back, knees, strength and overall energy.

Duhamel told Fox News he co-founded men’s health company Gatlan, which the report describes as offering physician-guided testosterone replacement therapy, hormone optimization, weight loss and longevity treatments. He said his former representatives warned him that becoming the face of the treatment could hurt his Hollywood image.

The Fox News report noted that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved testosterone products to treat men with low testosterone associated with certain medical conditions and requires those products to carry warnings about increased blood pressure; the report said patients should consult their doctor about potential benefits and risks.

The report also relayed Duhamel’s remarks about family and longevity. The actor and his wife, Audra Mari, married in September 2022; their son Shepherd was born in January 2024 and, the report says, they announced the birth of their daughter Rocca de Leon Duhamel in May 2026. Duhamel also shares son Axl, 13, with his ex-wife, singer Fergie.

Duhamel told Fox News he pursued hormone optimization partly out of a desire to stay physically and mentally healthy for his young children and for the longer term.
