Lions’ 2024 first-round pick Terrion Arnold charged with kidnapping and armed robbery in Florida

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was arrested Wednesday night in Hillsborough County, Florida, on charges of kidnapping and armed robbery, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Arnold, a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was taken into custody at Orient Road Jail. He faces four counts each of kidnapping and armed robbery. Authorities said Arnold turned himself in after police linked him to a series of incidents in February.

Investigators allege that Arnold rented an Airbnb in Largo, Florida, where he stayed with several co-defendants, including Arianna Del Valle, Jasmine Randazzo, Lyndell Hudson II, Christion Williams, Boakai Hilton Jr., and Freddie Hughes. The property was the site of a targeted armed robbery and assault involving three male victims, authorities said.

According to police, the victims, all late teens, were battered, pistol-whipped, and robbed before being ordered to leave a residence on North 46th Street in Tampa. Investigators said the victims suffered visible injuries. Arnold is accused of suspecting two of the victims were responsible for stolen property, but police later determined they were not involved.

Police allege Arnold and others coordinated a scheme to lure one victim to an apartment on Feb. 4. During the incident, Williams and Hudson reportedly held victims at gunpoint and assaulted them. Authorities said Del Valle streamed the assault and that Arnold directed the group via a group chat during the attack. Arnold, Hilton, Hughes, and another individual arrived at the scene around 1 a.m. and participated in the theft, police said.

Arnold, who is from Alabama, was a standout at the University of Alabama before his selection by the Lions. He recorded his first career interception last season and played 16 games, tallying 10 passes defended and 60 tackles before a season-ending shoulder injury.

The Lions have not publicly commented on Arnold’s arrest. The NFL also declined to provide further details, stating they are aware of the situation and have been in contact with the team.
