Malik Nabers practices fully as Giants open training camp; Harbaugh says he ‘looked good’

New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers, a 2024 first-round pick, participated in a full practice Wednesday at the team’s training camp at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, and coach John Harbaugh said the player “looked good.”

General manager Joe Schoen said the team has a detailed plan for Nabers’ return but offered no timeline. “We’ve got a really good plan for him,” Schoen said. “We’ll see how he reacts … as long as everything goes as planned, we’ll listen to Malik and his body. But no predictions right now, just because we have a long way to go.”

The Giants said Nabers tore his ACL and suffered a full meniscus tear after jumping for a pass in quarterback Jaxson Dart’s first career start. The team said he waited for swelling to subside before undergoing surgery, later had scar tissue removed in the spring and has had two procedures related to the injury.

The team did not place Nabers on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp, and the Giants said he spent the summer in New Jersey working with the club’s medical staff on his recovery. Harbaugh said Nabers “has a process going” and again noted that he “looked good” during practice.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart said he was pleased to throw to Nabers on the first day of camp. “He definitely has a presence about him,” Dart said. “There’s an aura that he has on the field that is exhilarating. … We’re just going to continue to get him in slowly. He’s doing a great job with how he’s attacking his recovery.”
