Trump-backed Andy Biggs to face Gov. Katie Hobbs in Arizona governor’s race

Republican Rep. Andy Biggs will face Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in Arizona’s governor’s race this fall, Decision Desk HQ projected Friday.

Biggs, who is backed by former President Donald Trump, defeated Rep. David Schweikert in the Republican primary, Decision Desk HQ reported.

Hobbs, the incumbent governor, ran uncontested in the Democratic primary, Decision Desk HQ said.

Decision Desk HQ noted the contest comes in a state that it said Trump carried in both 2016 and 2024.
