Secret Service director says thoughts with bystander shot near White House
Secret Service Director Sean Curran said Sunday his thoughts were with a bystander who was shot during an exchange of gunfire Saturday between Secret Service officers and an armed gunman near the White House.
Curran praised the response of his officers. “I want to recognize the quick and decisive response demonstrated by our Secret Service police officers last night in confronting an armed gunman,” he said.
Curran made the remarks Sunday as the agency addressed the shooting near the White House, according to his comments.
