Former Trump COVID adviser says U.S. equipped to handle Ebola outbreak

A former adviser to President Donald Trump during the COVID-19 pandemic said Sunday the United States is equipped to handle an Ebola outbreak, the adviser said.

The adviser acknowledged leadership gaps at federal health agencies, saying, “The U.S. right now does not have a confirmed head of the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)], it does not have a confirmed head of the [Food and Drug Administration (FDA)],” the adviser said.

The comments were made Sunday. The adviser served in a role during the COVID-19 pandemic, the adviser said.
