Trump criticizes Missouri Supreme Court for blocking congressional map
President Donald Trump on Thursday condemned a Missouri Supreme Court decision that blocked new congressional lines from being used in the state’s November election, saying the court “ridiculously ruled in favor” of those opposing the plan.
Trump said the lines were drawn to benefit Republicans and should be used in the fall contest. The president’s comments were reported Thursday.
The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously ruled Thursday evening that the map, which was used in the state’s primary elections last month, “did not go into effect,” the court said.
The ruling prevents the new congressional boundaries from being applied to the November ballot, and drew public criticism from Trump, who said the decision disadvantaged the party he argued the map favored.
