Maryland Supreme Court keeps redistricting referendum on November ballot
The Maryland Supreme Court on Thursday evening ruled to keep a Democrat-led redistricting referendum on the November ballot but ordered that the question be shown with different wording, the court said.
The ruling overturned a lower court’s decision that had blocked the proposed ballot question, according to the high court’s decision.
The Democratic Party called the decision a major victory in its efforts to reclaim the House this fall, party officials said.
The court’s action resolved the dispute over whether the question could appear on the ballot this November, the decision said.
