Bond Denied for 14-Year-Old Charged With Murder in Clarke County

In a tragic turn of events, 14-year-old Chquese Porter has been denied bond following his formal charging as an adult in the shooting death of 12-year-old Caleb Bender. The incident occurred around 1:00 am on June 29th, 2024, at a residence on River Rd near the intersection of Leola St in the Town of Stonewall, Clarke County.

Clarke County Sheriff’s Investigators have leveled a second-degree murder charge against Porter, marking a solemn milestone in the case. Currently held at the Clarke County Jail, Porter awaits the setting of bond by the Clarke County Justice Court. The next phase involves presenting the case to a Clarke County grand jury for further legal proceedings.
