Tippah County sports roundup, Oct. 3, 2026: BMCU wins in four sets; Saturday volleyball on tap

Blue Mountain Christian defeated William Carey in four sets Friday at Tyler Gym, with Salice Speed and Marissa Gerleman each delivering 12 kills. The Volley Toppers return to conference play against Mobile at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, while Walnut and Falkner also have volleyball matches scheduled.

Volley Toppers finish strong

BMCU won the SSAC match 25–19, 19–25, 25–15, 25–20, taking the final two sets after William Carey evened the contest.

Speed added 18 digs and three aces, and Gerleman hit .550. Abbi Williams led the defense with 26 digs, while Olivia Lewis recorded seven blocks. Sydney Tague supplied 17 assists. Saturday’s high school schedule
