Tippah County sports roundup, Sept. 15, 2026: Walnut reaches 20 wins; four teams host tonight

Walnut earned its 20th volleyball victory Monday with a 3-0 home sweep of Baldwyn, giving Tippah County its only win in four varsity matches. The Wildcats improved to 20-4 overall and 4-0 in district play, according to TippahSports.com’s report on the Sept. 14 results.

Pine Grove, Ripley and Falkner fall

East Union remained unbeaten at 24-0 after defeating Pine Grove 25-9, 25-17, 25-21. The Panthers fell to 13-10. Ann Flemming LeFlore led the Urchins with 20 kills and 16 digs.

Ripley lost at Kossuth 25-22, 25-12, 25-14, dropping to 10-11 as the Aggies reached 20-4. Falkner fell to 4-12 after New Site won 25-11, 25-23, 25-20. The Royals improved to 13-2.

Four home matches Tuesday

All four teams return to their own gyms Sept. 15. TippahSports.com’s Tuesday schedule lists:

  • 6 p.m.: Jumpertown at Pine Grove and New Site at Walnut.
  • 6:30 p.m.: Alcorn Central at Ripley.
  • 7 p.m.: Wheeler at Falkner.

Blue Mountain’s next cross-country meet is the Ingomar Invitational in New Albany on Saturday, Sept. 19, according to the results report.
