PFAS “forever chemicals” found in surrounding counties including Alcorn and Union
According to Consumer Reports and Mississippi Spotlight, 98% of tap water samples from all 82 counties in the state contained toxic PFAS chemicals.
Crystal and Tim Dotson in Corinth had the highest levels.
PFAS can cause health issues like kidney and liver disease, cancer, and high cholesterol.
The top 10 counties with the highest PFAS levels were Alcorn, Carroll, Lamar, Harrison, Forrest, Holmes, Hancock, Hinds, Union, and Pike.
People are urging Governor Tate Reeves to order statewide testing and provide filters for households.
