Tippah County under tornado threat from system that produced Gulf hurricane
Tippah County is under a severe weather threat being produced by the system that was the cause of the extremely dangerous Hurricane Laura that made landfall in Louisiana early Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service is issuing warnings for wind gusts and the potential for tornadoes.
From the NWS:
Hurricane Laura will bring impacts to the Mid South later on this afternoon/evening and should continue to impact the area until at least Saturday.
Laura will continue to weaken as it moves closer to the area. We can expect gusty winds, periods of heavy rain especially within the outer bands of Laura, and the possibility of brief tornadoes as Laura moves into the region.
