Unity Baptist Bible Conference Opens in Ripley

Unity Baptist Church in Ripley opened its annual Unity Baptist Bible Conference on Sunday, Nov. 8, a tradition the church’s pastor says goes back about 35 years. Pastor Ronnie Barefield announced the start of the conference, which the church also calls its campmeeting, in a Facebook post Sunday morning and invited the public to attend.

“Big day for us here at the Unity BC in Ripley Mississippi as we start our Annual Bible Conference/Campmeeting,” Barefield wrote. He asked people to pray for the preachers and singers taking part, and for churches, law enforcement, the military and first responders.

The church is at 220 County Road 457 in Ripley, according to its Facebook page, which describes Unity as a conservative rural church in northeast Mississippi. Barefield told people looking for details to check the church’s website or Facebook page, or to contact him.

The conference draws preachers and gospel singers to Tippah County from around the region every November. In earlier years, the church has said many of the same preachers and singers come back each year, along with a few new faces. It has also helped out-of-town guests find hotel rooms in New Albany and Corinth.

How to Watch the Services

Can’t make it in person? Unity Baptist streams its services live on its Facebook page, facebook.com/unitybaptist. A “Unity Live Stream” video was posted there Sunday. In past years, the church has told viewers they could watch the livestream during each conference service.

Tippah News could not find a published 2026 schedule listing this year’s speakers, service times or closing night. Past conferences have run from Sunday through Wednesday nights, but people planning to attend should check with the church for this year’s times.

A Busy Week for Ripley Churches

The conference is one of two multi-day church meetings starting in Ripley on Sunday. First Baptist Church Ripley is also holding Revival Days Nov. 8-11 with evangelist Rick Coram. With Veterans Day on Wednesday, it’s a full week on the local calendar.

Churches and community groups across Tippah and Benton counties are welcome to send event details to Tippah News.
