Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski ties record with 105.5 mph pitch
Milwaukee Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski threw a pitch that was officially measured at 105.5 mph during a game against the Chicago Cubs, matching the fastest pitch ever recorded by a starter, officials said.
The game broadcast’s scorebug initially displayed the pitch at 105 mph, and the pitch was later listed at 105.5 mph in the official measurement, according to the broadcast and official data.
The pitch came to leadoff hitter Pete Crow-Armstrong, who fouled off the 0-2 offering down the third-base line, the broadcast showed.
Earlier this month Misiorowski threw a 104.5 mph fastball past Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber, which was then considered the hardest pitch by a starter, according to MLB records. The 105.5 mph reading ties Misiorowski with Los Angeles Angels reliever Ben Joyce, who was recorded at 105.5 mph in 2024, MLB records show.
The fastest pitches on record remain those by Aroldis Chapman, who has been recorded at 105.7 and 105.8 mph, MLB records indicate.
