The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor said it recently donated 100 laptops to the Mississippi National Guard. The office said the gift was meant to support the service members.

Jimmy W. Thrasher, 59, of Verona, was arrested March 13 and charged with burglary after items were reported stolen from a storage unit at Romie’s on Feb. 11, police said.

Tilar T. Thompson, 25, of Tupelo, was arrested March 13 and charged with aggravated domestic violence after a woman reported being assaulted, authorities said. A judge ordered Thompson held on $40,000 bond.

Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Adult Education program at Booneville said student Breanna Oswalt earned a High School Equivalency Diploma and praised her perseverance.

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, said a cold front has moved through the region and an areawide Freeze Warning is in effect tonight. The office said breezy winds will make conditions feel colder through the afternoon, but relief is expected soon.
