NWS: Heat indices exceed 100 degrees through end of week in Memphis

The National Weather Service’s Memphis office said an early summer heatwave will continue through the end of the week, with many areas seeing heat indices in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Shower and thunderstorm chances are expected to increase Friday ahead of a late-week cold front, the office said.

The office said the cold front should begin to reduce heat indices by early next week.

The information was posted by the National Weather Service in Memphis.
