Deadline tomorrow to apply for aid after Jan. 23-27 storms, FEMA says
Residents have until tomorrow to apply for federal assistance for the winter storms that struck Jan. 23-27, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said.
FEMA said applicants can apply online, by phone, through the FEMA app or by visiting one of its Disaster Service Centers in Alcorn, Lafayette, Panola, Leflore, Benton, Yazoo, Carroll, Coahoma, Montgomery, Tallahatchie, Pontotoc, Marshall and Tishomingo counties.
The agency said receiving assistance will not affect recipients’ Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
FEMA provided the information in a public notice about the application deadline and available assistance options.
