The National Weather Service office in Memphis issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee until 7 p.m. CDT, warning of large hail and damaging winds.

A radar update at 3:30 p.m. CDT said a couple of strong to severe thunderstorms were moving across the area and had increased in intensity, posing a risk of damaging winds and large hail.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation will hold a job fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 10 at the Downtown Liberty Harris Building, MDOT said.

Forecasters say a cluster of storms over southwest Arkansas is expected to reach the Mid-South in the next one to two hours, with large to very large hail the primary concern.
