Northeast Mississippi Community College honors Raina Michael with Northeast Way Award
Raina Michael, an administrative assistant for event planning and housing at Northeast Mississippi Community College, has been named this month’s recipient of the Northeast Way Award. The honor recognizes employees who go above and beyond to foster a welcoming and supportive environment, according to college officials.
In her nomination, colleagues praised Michael for her consistent kindness and willingness to assist others. One remark highlighted her friendly attitude, stating she “always goes above and beyond to help anyone and is always so nice and friendly and has a smile on her face 24/7.” Her positive attitude leaves a lasting impression on students she serves, officials said.
Michael’s impact extends beyond her immediate role. She reportedly helps students navigate other departments and assists in resolving issues, making their college experience less stressful. “She’s just always willing to go the extra mile to make every student’s life easier,” a college spokesperson said.
Students have expressed appreciation for her approachable demeanor. One student said, “If I ever need anything, I always know I can go to her office and she will either help me fix it or get me to the right person.”
College officials noted that Michael exemplifies the college’s core value of serving others with kindness, positivity, and a genuine willingness to help. They encouraged others to nominate deserving employees for the award via an online form linked on the college’s website.
