Northeast Community College honors nursing instructor with Northeast Way Award

Tracey Barron, an instructor in the Practical Nursing Program at Northeast Community College, has been named this month’s recipient of the Northeast Way Award. The honor recognizes employees who demonstrate exceptional service, leadership, and genuine care for others.

According to a former student, Barron’s influence extended beyond classroom lessons. The student said Barron was “everyone’s favorite teacher,” who made lessons engaging and understandable. Her ability to simplify complex concepts helped create a confident learning environment. The student added that Barron’s greatest lesson was how to be a good nurse, not just a nurse.

That student is now a registered nurse teaching nephrology nursing for a global company. They credited Barron’s wisdom, positive attitude, and support for their career success.

Colleagues praised Barron’s dedication beyond academics. One said she “went above and beyond in the classroom and in the clinical setting,” ensuring students understood their tasks and making clinical experiences enjoyable. Her passion continues to influence future nurses long after graduation.

A nominator highlighted her ability to explain difficult concepts while making learning fun. They said Barron’s work changes lives and deserves recognition. Northeast Community College congratulates her on receiving the Northeast Way Award. Readers are encouraged to nominate other deserving employees through an online form linked on the college’s website.
